Privacy Policy
Throvo ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Throvo mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Location Data
Throvo collects precise GPS location data while you are actively recording a ride. This data is used solely to track your route, calculate distance, speed, and elevation. Location data is stored on your device and optionally synced to your personal cloud account. We do not sell, share, or use your location data for advertising purposes.
We request "Always On" location permission so that ride tracking continues when the app is in the background (e.g. when your phone screen locks mid-ride). You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Account Information
When you sign in, we collect your email address and display name via Google Sign-In. This is used to identify your account and sync your data across devices.
Ride and Garage Data
Ride records (route, distance, speed, duration, elevation), bike information, fuel logs, and service entries are stored on your device and synced to Firebase (Google Cloud) under your account. This data is private to your account.
Photos
If you attach photos to documents or bike profiles, those images are uploaded to Firebase Storage and associated with your account. They are not used for any other purpose.
Usage Data
We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry beyond what Firebase provides by default (e.g. basic connectivity logs). We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide ride tracking, distance calculation, and route mapping
- To sync your data across your devices via your account
- To display your ride history, garage, fuel logs, and service records
- To update your bike's odometer based on completed rides
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage, and optionally synced to Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage). Firebase is hosted in secure, SOC 2-certified data centers. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
We do not have access to your data beyond what is necessary to operate the sync service. Your ride data, garage, and logs are private to your account.
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete individual rides, bikes, or entries at any time within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@throvo.app.
5. Third-Party Services
Throvo uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database, and file storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
- CartoDB / OpenStreetMap — map tile rendering. Tile requests include your approximate location to fetch the correct map area. CARTO Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In — authentication. Google Privacy Policy
6. Children's Privacy
Throvo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@throvo.app.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
